'The Yellow Jug and other stories'

The yellow jug, a distinctly Australian electric kettle from the 1950’s once sat at the centre of domesticity, bearing witness to the drama and intimacy of daily life, the stories told and tears shed, over a cuppa tea.
Imbued with these stories and no longer tethered to the kitchen, the jug reflects on the past and its new, intimate relationships, within the context of the modern world.
Representing both object and subject, the interplay between the yellow jug, the flowers, and its environment in each photograph tells a familiar story, yet, stripped of gender, ethnicity, and status, are experienced through the personal circumstances of the viewer.
The photographs are allegories of love, lust and loss - stories that belong to us all.
