"You always were her favourite" (framed)
"You always were her favourite" - from the ongoing series, The Yellow Jug and other stories
The yellow jug, a distinctly Australian electric kettle from the 1950’s once sat at the centre of domesticity, bearing witness to the drama and intimacy of daily life, the stories told and tears shed, over a cuppa tea.
Imbued with these stories and no longer tethered to the kitchen, the jug experiences its own relationships within the context of the modern world.
Stripped of gender, ethnicity, and status, each image is experienced through the personal narratives of the viewer.
The photographs are allegories of love, lust and loss - stories that belong to us all.
