Dyarubbin 26.01.23 was taken in the morning ofthe day currently labelled 'Australia Day' in the Hawkesbury River, NSW, Australia. I find this day so conflicting and the only thing that makes sense for me to do, is be on country, photographing the landscape. It is a meditation for me: I think about nothing else. I look. I see. I hear, smell and feel. I am in awe of her beauty. I am so grateful for this beautiful landscape and I am grateful to the traditional custodians, the First Nations peoples. It is only due to their care and deep knowledge of country that we are all able to enjoy this richness.

    Always was. Always will be.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Garigal, Guringai, Dharug and Darkinjung Country, the land where I work, live and play. I acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Custodians of Country and recognise their continuing connection to land, sea, culture and community.

I pay my respects to Elders past and present.

This beautiful land that I love and protect was, and always will be Aboriginal Land.
