The Yellow Jug

'The Yellow Jug' is an ongoing narrative series of 'still life in the landscape'.

The series features an Australian ceramic 'Kookaburra Kettle', a recognisable relic from the 1930's and 40's. The kettle, or 'The Yellow Jug', takes on personas in this series. By taking the still life into the landscape, - it is no longer 'still' but is responding to its environment - it is exposed, perhaps vulnerable, proud, lonely, industrious or even bored - you decide.

The series celebrates the simple pleasures and serves as a reminder to us all to seek and enjoy beauty where it exists.

This is a work in progress. I have chosen to include images here which may or may not make the final series.

An exhibition of 'The Yellow Jug' will be held in the Dangar Island Depot, Dangar Island, Sydney in September 2023.

Series Date: 2022
